Footage of Erling Haaland responding on Etihad’s first training resurfacing

Erling Haaland’s reaction to training at the Etihad ahead of Dortmund’s Champions League clash with Manchester City last season has surfaced again after rumors of his future.

It was revealed on Monday night that Manchester City had agreed personal terms with Haaland’s representatives before moving over the summer – a deal that would make him the highest paid player in the Premier League.

Sportsmail claims the 21-year-old received a “huge financial package” worth around £ 500,000 a week.

After intense speculation about his future at Westfalenstadion, Haaland’s move could be confirmed as early as next week, and he currently has a release clause of £ 63m in his Dortmund contract.

The father of Norwegian international player Alf Inge spent three years in Manchester City and is thought to have been involved in the negotiations.

We’ve seen pictures of a young Erling Haaland in a Manchester City jersey in the past, with the 21-year-old player having to face his father’s old ball when Dortmund faced European Premier League champions last April.

Haaland started training at Etihad Stadium just days before that quarterfinal match. In fact, cameras recorded his initial reactions as he stepped out of the Etihad Tunnel for the first time. “it’s beautiful.”

Prior to the Champions League clash, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was full of praise for the Norwegian, who has scored 33 goals in 31 games in all competitions this season.

“It’s not easy to score so many goals at his age. He’s 20 and the numbers speak for themselves,” he said.

“When that happens, it’s because he can score right, left on counter attack in the box. He’s a great striker and everybody knows that.

“All I can say is he’s a great striker. He’s a great striker for his age. He’s a great player – that’s all.”
