ICC T20I rankings | Babar Azam drops another spot, Mohammad Rizwan keeps top spot
Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam slipped even more in the latest T20I rankings, while wicketkeeper and batsman Mohammad Rizwan stayed at the top. Babar slipped to fourth place in the latest rankings after a disappointing Asia Cup and a return of 31 runs against England in the first match of the series.
Rizwan’s rating has improved to 825 following a strong performance in the recently concluded international tournament and a spectacular 68-run stand against England at the National Stadium. Suryakumar Yadav, a notable player for India, has made significant progress toward becoming the world’s top T20I hitter.
In the ratings, he is now only 45 points behind Rizwan. However, South African great Aiden Markram (792 rating points) and Indian standout Yadav (780 rating points) are also within striking distance and will have a chance to challenge for the top spot when the ICC T20 World Cup begins in Australia in less than a month.
As the captain of the Pakistan cricket team across all formats, Babar Azam is an internationally prominent figure in the sport. He is the only batsman in the world to be ranked in the top five in all formats and considered one of the best in modern-day cricket.
