Following the quick dismissals of both openers, Virat Kohli played a pivotal role, scoring 95 runs, and in collaboration with Shreyas Iyer, added 52 runs to stabilize the innings. Kohli then partnered with KL Rahul, contributing an additional 54 runs, followed by a 78-run partnership with Ravindra Jadeja. These partnerships brought India closer to its target. Unfortunately, Kohli fell just short of his century, but his efforts were crucial in guiding India to victory on the last ball of the 48th over.
India made a strong comeback in the closing overs by capturing the last six wickets and conceding just 30 runs.
