Manchester United have released a statement following the tragic death of newborn son Cristiano Ronaldo.
The announcement was made by Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez on Monday night, after the pair confirmed they were expecting twins in October.
United’s post read: “Your pain is our pain, @Cristiano.

The 37-year-old confirmed in a statement on Instagram that his son had died, while also confirming that Rodriguez had given birth to a baby girl.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our little boy,” the post read.
“This is the greatest pain any parent can feel.
“Only the birth of our little girl has given us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.
“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their professional care and support.
“We are all saddened by this loss and urge us to protect privacy at this very difficult time.
“Our little boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
Ronaldo’s oldest son, Cristiano Jr., was born through a surrogate mother in 2010, and his mother’s full identity is unknown because of a previous deal.

Rodriguez will then give birth to the minister’s daughter, Alana Martina, that year after meeting in 2016.
The model worked at a Gucci store in Spain and met Ronaldo while in Real Madrid.
Supporters offered support to Ronaldo and Rodriguez during the test.
Ronaldo rejoined Manchester United from Juventus this summer and has scored 21 goals this season.
A hat-trick in the 3-2 win over Norwich City on Saturday, his second game of the season, scored.
