Pakistan gets eliminated by Sri Lanka in the semi-finals of the Women’s Asia Cup 2022. Sri Lanka beat Pakistan in a thrilling semi-final match at the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 semi-finals on Thursday in Sylhet, with 2 runs to 1. The Islanders batted first and set the Bismah Maroof-led squad a total of 122 to win.

Achini Kulasuriya fielded brilliantly, preventing nine runs, as Sri Lanka edged out Pakistan in a thrilling last-over fight. With Nida Dar and Aliya Riaz still at the crease, Pakistan sent in Kulasuriya for the final over, needing nine runs. The seven runs Kulasuriya collected were the fewest on the winning Sri Lankan team.

With 31 runs scored in the first three overs, Pakistan’s openers put their team in a solid position to chase down 123. Also, Muneeba provided 18 runs off 10 balls to the opening partnership’s 31 total. Therefore, the early loss of two wickets for Pakistan was averted thanks to Bismah Maroof.

She scored 42 runs off of only 41 balls, including four fours. Nida Dar stayed at the crease till the end of the game. So, she scored 26 runs at a pace of one run per delivery. Harshitha Samarawickrama scored 35 runs off of 41 at the batting crease to help Sri Lanka reach 122 runs for six in 20 overs. The Pakistani bowling attack, led by Nashra Sandhu, who got three wickets, bowled well. With the help of Nida and Sadia Iqbal, Aiman Anwer took three wickets.
