PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan passed away at 89

Born in 1934, Shaharyar Khan enlisted in the Foreign Service in 1957 and stayed until 1994, when he resigned as Foreign Secretary. Former Foreign Secretary and Chairman of the PCB Shaharyar Khan died away in Lahore on Saturday following a protracted illness.

He was eighty-nine. Shaharyar Khan, an avid cricket player, served as director for two terms, from roughly 2003 to 2006 and again from 2014 to 2017. He worked as the UN Secretary General’s extraordinary agent in Rwanda from 1994 to 1996, overseeing peacekeeping operations.
