T20 Blast: To cover for Shaheen Afridi, Nottinghamshire signs two pacers. Ben Lister of New Zealand and Fazalhaq Farooqi of Afghanistan are Nottinghamshire’s left-arm seamers for the T20 Blast group stages this year. The club is seeking to repeat the success that Pakistan T20 skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi brought to the team the previous summer.
Lister has 13 limited-overs caps for his nation, although he is not anticipated to be included on their World Cup roster. He will play with Notts for the first eight games of the Blast group stages, after which Farooqi will take his position.

After the T20 World Cup, Farooqi will spearhead Afghanistan’s seam attack in his county cricket debut, pending a No-Objection Certificate from the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
In his 14 games for Notts last season, Shaheen took 22 wickets, four of which came in an over during a loss to the Birmingham Bears. But because of a scheduling clash with the T20 World Cup, where he will captain Pakistan, he will miss the Blast this summer, which has forced Notts to look for other options.
