After defeating Multan Sultans by two wickets in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine final at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on Monday, Islamabad United players celebrated with the Palestinian flag.
Hunain Shah, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, and other Islamabad players were spotted walking around the stadium waving the Palestinian flag and thanking the supporters for their support.
The footballers participated in the celebration in support of the Palestinian people, who have been oppressed by Israel since the October 7 Hamas attack, which Israel claims claimed the lives of over 1400 Palestinians.

During the festivities, only the Pakistani players from the Islamabad squad were holding the flag; the foreign players were not present.
Recall that Islamabad, captained by Shadab Khan, won the PSL for a record third time after winning the competition in 2016 and 2018. They are now the most successful team in the tournament’s history.
When Hunain Shah entered the bat with one run needed off the penultimate ball, the thrilling match was decided on that one ball. The youthful player struck the ball for four after deftly spotting the opening at point.
After losing three wickets in the powerplay and trailing 55-3, veteran batsman Martin Guptill and prolific batsman Azam Khan combined to create a vital 47-run partnership that put Islamabad back in control.
