Babar Azam, who scored 500 runs in PSL 9, now joins Mohammad Rizwan on the elite list. In the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine, Babar Azam, the captain of Peshawar Zalmi, scored 500 runs in Qualifier 1 at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi. In a single PSL season, the 29-year-old achieved the 500-run milestone for the third time. In the 2021 edition, he scored 554 runs; in the 2023 edition, he scored 522 runs.

In three PSL editions, only Muhammad Rizwan had scored 500 or more. The skipper of the Multan Sultans scored 500 runs in 2021, 546 in 2022, and 550 in 2023 to accomplish the feat. Fakhar Zaman, a batter for the Lahore Qalandars, currently holds the record for most runs scored in a single PSL season. The left-handed hitter achieved that feat in 2022 with 588 runs scored.
