Multan Sultan beat Peshawar Zalmi to qualify for the final PSL 8. The Multan Sultans have advanced to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine final after defeating Peshawar Zalmi by a commanding seven wickets. The team led by Muhammad Rizwan has qualified for the PSL final four times running. On March 16, Babar Azam’s Zalmi will get another opportunity to go to the championship game against either Islamabad United or Quetta Gladiators.

Opener Strategy:

Yasir Khan, the opener, set the tone for the Sultans’ dominant chase. The right-hander made the captain, Mohammad Rizwan, who was batting from the opposite end, pay attention to him. Zalmi was caught off guard by the rising star’s lightning-fast strokes. Rizwan was the first man to leave for Sultans and appeared agitated.

Bowling Attack:

He chose to play a pull-of-a-length delivery that Aamer Jamal bowled, finding its way directly into Saim Ayub’s hands. Yasir, meantime, achieved his first PSL fifty. In the eleventh over, Mehran Mumtaz caught him and bowled him.

In his 37-ball 54, the 22-year-old hit seven fours and one six. Johnson Charles and the in-form Usman Khan teamed up to add 35 to the total. Salman Irshad’s yorker undone Charles (11) but Iftikhar Ahmed hit three fours in the same over, so the pursuit was not greatly affected.

Last Overs:

The 19th oversaw the completion of the chase. Usman was still undefeated at 28 balls and 36 while Iftikhar scored a quick 22 off of just eight balls. With just four runs in the opening over, Zalmi’s innings got off to a terrible start as they lost their reliable opener Saim Ayub (1).

Before falling to Mohammad Ali in the sixth over, Mohammad Haris and Babar established a solid 46-run combination in the middle of the bat. Following his departure, Paul Walter and Luke Wood contributed late fireworks, followed by notable contributions from Tom Kohler-Cadmore (age 24) and Rovman Powell (12). Notably, United and Gladiators will square off in Eliminator 1 on March 15, with the victor taking on Zalmi the following day for the second seed in the championship match.
