Mohsin Naqvi, the recently elected head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), examined the arrangements for the next ninth Pakistan Super League (PSL 9). Sources said the chairman had requested cricket board cost records, including player pay and annual budget. He ordered the CFO and others to produce a briefing report. Sources stated the chairman wanted to compare cricket team performance and expenses. Mr. Naqvi would create a board management strategy after reviewing all the issues.
During his visit to the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Mr. Naqvi—who also serves as Punjab’s temporary chief minister—was briefed on the development projects. So, it included an assessment and renovation of the NCA housing.
He was also given a rundown on PSL 9 preparations and evaluated the Gaddafi Stadium’s amenities and locker rooms.
Previous reports stated that the chairman had called for the cricket board’s yearly budget and player pay, among other expenditure details. He has instructed other officials, including the chief finance officer (CFO), to compile a report for the briefing.
According to sources, the chairman was interested in comparing the cricket team’s performance and expenses. Following his evaluation of everything, Mr. Naqvi would draft a plan for how the board would be run going forward.
