Mohammad Rizwan and Johnson Charles showcased stellar performances, each scoring impressive half-centuries, propelling Multan Sultans to a formidable total of 185/4 against Quetta Gladiators in the 30th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 held on Tuesday. Opting to bat first, the Sultans displayed a strong collective effort from their batsmen, despite a shaky start to their innings with the early dismissal of opener Yasir Khan for 12 runs in the third over, leaving them at 16/1.

However, Usman Khan, in excellent form, joined Mohammad Rizwan at the crease, forming a stabilizing partnership that contributed 52 runs before Usman was dismissed by Abrar Ahmed for a commendable 21 off 23 deliveries, including three boundaries. Rizwan continued to anchor the innings, forging a formidable partnership with Johnson Charles, pushing the Sultans towards a commanding position. Together, they added 65 runs for the third wicket before Rizwan was dismissed by Mohammad Amir in the 17th over, having scored a crucial 69 runs off 47 balls, featuring one boundary and four sixes.

Meanwhile, Iftikhar remained unbeaten with a quickfire 20 off eight deliveries, comprising two boundaries and a six. Despite Mohammad Amir leading the bowling attack for Quetta Gladiators with two wickets, the Sultans’ batsmen managed to maintain dominance, with Abrar Ahmed, Akeal Hosein, and Mohammad Wasim Jr. each claiming a wicket.
