Islamabad United beat Peshawar Zalmi to reach the PSL 9 final with Multan Sultans. Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 Eliminator 2 winner Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi on Saturday thanks to an undefeated 98-run partnership between Haider Ali and Imad Wasim.
First Innings
Zalmi started their innings well and their in-form openers Babar Azam and Saim again set the stage for a big total. Saim led the opening stand while Babar cautiously knocked until Naseem Shah dismissed him with 72 runs.
He tried to catch Naseem’s long delivery, but Shadab Khan made a great grab. Babar scored 25 from 22 deliveries with two boundaries and a six. Before Saim died in the 15th over, Haris joined him in the middle and they continued their 59-run partnership.

Peshawar Zalmi’s best scorer was Saim Ayub, who scored 73 off 44 balls with six boundaries and four sixes. After Naseem’s easy dismissal, Haris followed suit in the next over. He hit three boundaries and two sixes for a 25-ball 40.

Later, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Aamer Jamal’s quick cameos took Zalmi past 180 runs. Naseem Shah led the United bowling assault with 3/30 in four overs, while Shadab and Obed McCoy each took one.
The winner of Eliminator 2 will play 2021 Champions Multan Sultans in the PSL 9 final on Monday at the same venue.
